East Pool Mine (Between Redruth and Camborne) is now preserved by the National Trust and it made an excellent basis for a Meccano model…..

Nearing completion; some adjustments still to be made to the motor drive
I have left this side off to be able to see inside. Other walls are complete with wallpapered flexible plates!  
I modelled the major working parts, but many of the smaller cranks and valves I never understood (and /or were too small to model effectively) The wheel shares an axle with winding drums used to haul are up from the mine shaft.
